Therapeutic Modalities
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, collaborative, and down-to-earth, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emotional processing and trauma-informed care. Having spent thirteen years in law enforcement, I understand the unique pressures, expectations, culture, and cumulative impact of working in a first responder role. I believe the foundation of effective therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, understanding, and feeling genuinely heard. My lived experience in policing helps me connect with first responders in a meaningful way, creating a space where you don't have to explain every aspect of your world before we can begin. Together, we will tailor our work to your individual experiences, needs, and goals, using an approach that feels practical, authentic, and right for you.
Dedicated to Compassionate, Results-Oriented Therapy
My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping you develop skills you can use in your everyday life. I break down therapeutic concepts into clear, relatable language and provide plenty of psychoeducation so you can better understand your experiences, recognize patterns, and learn how to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. My goal isn't for you to rely on therapy forever, but to help you build the knowledge and tools to become your own therapist long after our work together ends. I see you as the expert on your own life, and I bring my clinical knowledge and experience to work alongside you. Because every person, experience, and set of circumstances is unique. I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Together, we will find an approach that makes sense for you and supports the changes that matter most in your life.
What to expect?
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a therapeutic relationship and get comfortable working together. I'll ask plenty of questions to learn more about you, your experiences, and what brings you to therapy, while also making time to answer any questions you may have. We can discuss your goals for therapy and explore approaches that may best support you.
